Yi-Ling Chu

BA, MA

Ms. Yi-Ling Chu has a secondary school teaching license in Chinese Literature, Guidance and Counseling, and a Teaching Mandarin Abroad certificate. She has an M.A. in Education degree from the University of Nottingham in England. She earned an IB PYP certificate for enhancing teaching concepts besides the AP program. Ms. Yi-Ling had administrative experience as a High School Counselor, EARCOS coordinator and ASEP coordinator from 2016 to 2021. She received the award of excellence teacher from OCAC in 2017. Ms. Yi-Ling believes that “everything that irritates us about others can lead us to an understanding of ourselves.” She incorporates SLOs into students' learning and always encourages students to treasure and value their lives and to live with integrity, empathy and gratitude.

Yin-Hsi (Yin) Chen

Graduated from National Kaohsiung Normal University Master's degree in Teaching Chinese as a second language, National Kaohsiung Normal University

Ms. Yin or 陳老師 is from Taiwan and is a qualified Mandarin teacher with five years of experience as a Mandarin teacher at multiple schools.
She has taught University, middle school, elementary school in Taiwan and Thailand. Ms. Yin  graduated from the National Kaohsiung Normal University with a Master's degree in Teaching Chinese as a second language.
Her teaching philosophy is to create a safe learning environment for her students, where they don't have to be afraid to make mistakes and they can try anything new! She also believes that communication is the key to your child’s success and to a great parent/teacher relationship. Ms. Yin is looking forward to her PK3B learning Journey with your child!  

Youn Ah Kim

BA in Computer Science from Inha University, South Korea MS in Information Management from City University, UK MA in School Counseling from Campbellsville University (USA) Certified School Counselor from the State of Idaho (USA)

Ms. Younah is the school counselor at TCIS, originally from South Korea. She worked for 7 years at an international school in Jeju and holds a master’s degree and certification in School Counseling from the United States. Ms. Younah creates a welcoming space where students feel safe to share, seek support, or simply relax. Her door is always open—not just for counseling, but also for casual chats about K-pop or anything on students’ minds. She looks forward to supporting and connecting with the students and community.

Yu Da Kim

B.A. in English Education, University of Oklahoma Specialized in TESOL, Sookmyung Women’s University.

Mr. Yuda Kim is a fifth-year drama teacher and musical director, with credits including West Side Story: School Edition, Disney’s Moana Jr., All Shook Up: Young@Part, and Frozen Jr. He spent three years at the National Institute of International Education’s English Education Center on Jeju Island, serving as a teacher trainer and educator for both student and teacher programs. There, he implemented content- and inquiry-based learning through MUN programs and indoor/outdoor activities, using the Oxford Curriculum aligned with CEFR guidelines. 
Mr. Yuda also spent three years at the Seoul English Education Center—an institution he helped name—where he developed and led experience-based and station-based learning programs, including drama productions, while also serving as a KSAT editor and program developer. In addition, Mr. Kim has six years of experience teaching in public schools. Beyond the classroom, he is a respected leader in various organizations and brings over 25 years of experience and hundreds of performances as a professional magician.

Yu-Tai (Thomas) Hsiao

B.A. in Chinese Literature: National Chengchi University; M.A. in Linguistics and Psycholinguistics: National Cheng Kung University

Mr. Thomas has a Master’s degree in Linguistics with a specialty in language acquisition, corpus linguistics, and psycholinguistics. He has a Bachelor of Arts in Chinese literature and obtained his qualified teacher license in Taiwan. Mr. Thomas used to teach Chinese in the Philippines and Taiwan. He started work at TCIS in 2015, teaching the Chinese language from elementary to secondary school, and was recognized with the Outstanding Teacher Award from the Private Educational Association of Samutprakarn in 2018. He has also served as a Chinese teacher trainer for Taiwan MOE, publishers, and universities. Currently, he teaches G5-8 CMT, reading & writing classes.
Mr. Thomas devotes himself to implementing differentiated instructional strategies and actively presenting students’ multiple intelligences in his class. He believes the teacher can create a successful learning experience for every student. 

Besides education, Mr. Thomas is also interested in watching series, scenic tours, and coffee hopping around Thailand. His reading habits often focus on the issue of language processing, humanity & society, and world humanitarian issues. He believes the world's warmth comes from what we are concerned about in life.

Yu-Yun (Winna) Cheng

Bachelor’s in Chinese literature, Tung Hai University Master’s degree in Chinese literature, Tung Hai University

Winna is from Taiwan and earned her Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Chinese literature from Tung Hai University. She has taught elementary school, middle school, high school and university in Taiwan and Thailand. Winna is also certified as a teacher both in Taiwan and Thailand.  

This is the beginning of her 4th year at TCIS and her teaching experience has entered the 11th year. Winna will be teaching PK4 Chinese and also be the homeroom teacher for PK4B.  She is interested in teaching Chinese to all ages! This is her first exposure to kindergarten education and her goal is to provide an environment where students have the opportunity to learn, to collaborate with each other and reach their potential. Winna is looking forward to working with her little shining stars!

Yuhan Chang

Bachelor’s degree in Applied Chinese from Ming Chuan University Master’s Degree in Teaching Chinese as a Second Language from National Normal Kaohsiung University

Ms. Chang has a Bachelor’s degree in Applied Chinese from Ming Chuan University and Master’s Degree in Teaching Chinese as a Second Language from National Normal Kaohsiung University. Ms. Chang has taught Chinese as both a second language and a mother tongue in Taiwan, Hong Kong, Japan and Thailand and has been the workshop leader for a number of workshops on teaching methods and classroom management. Ms. Chang speaks Chinese, English, Swedish, and Japanese, and her teaching is informed by her own language learning experiences. She is passionate about encouraging students to talk in the target language and share their interests and knowledge using Chinese as a tool to show what they know.

Zachery James Wade

Bachelor of Arts in Communications (Minor in Philosophy), DePauw University Teacher Certification, Moreland University

Coach Wade was born in California and raised in the suburbs of Chicago, where he developed a lifelong love of sports. After playing multiple sports growing up, he focused on American football and baseball in high school, ultimately pursuing baseball at the collegiate level. He played NCAA baseball at DePauw University and spent one season in the Prospect League before beginning his teaching and coaching journey.
In 2017, Coach Wade moved to Thailand to teach English in Wang Nam Yen, Sa Kaeo. Following a year in the classroom, he relocated to Bangkok to experience more of Thailand’s culture while working as an English tutor. During this time, he earned his NSCA Certified Strength & Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) credential, opening the door to work with athletes in school settings. In 2019, he was recruited to lead the baseball and softball programs at the International School Bangkok (ISB), where he spent five years building and growing the programs before joining TCIS.
At TCIS, Coach Wade is passionate about helping students build healthy habits, improve fitness, and reach their athletic potential. Outside of work, he enjoys golf, exploring Thailand, and spending time with his wife and young son, ZJ Jr. His mornings often begin with faith, philosophy, and journaling, grounding him in the values he strives to share with his students and athletes.
