Weather

Bangkok enjoys a tropical climate with an average temperature range from 17° Celsius to 36° Celsius. It has three distinct seasons - summer, when it's hot and dry (March through May); rainy, when it's hot and wet (June through October); and the cool season, when it's dry again (November through February). The average annual temperature is 28 degrees Centigrade, with summer highs topping 37 degrees, while in the cool season night-time temperatures in the low 20 degrees are common.

Because of the heat and humidity, light, loose cotton clothing is recommended when in the city. Avoid nylon. Long sleeves or a light jacket can be handy during the winter evenings, or if visiting mountainous areas or national parks. A stout umbrella or light, waterproof jacket is useful during the rainy season.

Thailand has similar three seasons:

Time

The time in Bangkok is 12-hours ahead of United States Eastern Standard Time. When the time springs ahead in the Spring in the U.S., the time in Bangkok stays the same. So, during spring and summer, Thailand is only 11 hours ahead of US EST. You can check the current time in Bangkok online (or time in other major cities anywhere in the world).
