An aircon bus is provided to teachers in Thana City. Pick up time is 6:30 am and 3:45 pm. It takes about 10 minutes to commute from Thana City to school. You may also take a metered taxi for about 65 baht or or two trips on motorcycle taxi for 40 baht. The school also provides another bus and airconditioned vans to transport teachers and staff to Sukhumvit and Central Bangna at 4 pm. Teachers sometimes hitch a ride to Bangkok on these vans if there are vacant seats. Teachers who work late in the afternoon, like coaches, take the TCIS van back to Thana City at 5:00-5:30 pm.
Taxis and private cars share the road with motorcycles, tuk-tuks, busses, bicycles, and an even an occasional elephant (though the elephant is generally not a form of transportation). You can call the taxi company to pick you up in school or Thana City, and pay an extra 20 baht on top of the meter for this service.
Some teachers - those with a lot of nerves and gumption -- drive motorbikes to and from school. Motorcycles cost between 20,000 to 40,000 baht.
Around Bangkok the quickest form of transportation is the BTS Skytrain. Opened in December of 1999, the skytrain moves quickly above the city traffic. The skytrain is a convenient way to get from specific places to other specific places, however, the skytrain's scope is somewhat limited. Often a combination of taxi and skytrain is the best transportation choice. From Thana City
