Nathan and Stacie came to TCIS/Thailand as a couple from New York in 2001. They got engaged while diving in Bali, Indonesia during Christmas that year, got married in Thai ceremonies in Koh Samui the following year, and tied the knot again in a church wedding in New York to mark their first year anniversary. They are currently teaching in Japan.
I miss the easy laid back life in Thailand the most. Mai pen rai
living is sure hard to beat. The Thai
people are always so patient and kind towards foreigners. There are virtually
no safety concerns as
well. Being able to afford luxuries like two hour massages, maid service,
and taxi rides everywhere made
financial concerns virtually non-existent.
Colleagues from TCIS are wonderful. They always know how to have a great time and live life to the fullest. I truly made some lifelong dear friendships at TCIS. All this adds up to easy, high quality, great living. Few places can compare to living in Thailand!

Things I miss most about Thailand are my friends, but I know I will meet
new friends any where I go!
Thailand was great for anything cheap! You could go to a movie for $3.00
and be in the lap of luxury. The seats were so comfortable and big. I miss
those recliners soooo much. And they got all the new movies when they would
come out in the USA. It is very different here in Japan where it costs $15.00
to see a movie.
Also shopping is great. I cannot wait to visit again so I can make a trip to Chatachuck and Central Bangna Mall where I can get some clothes. Picture framing is cheap there too, and tons of DVDs for around $5.00 each.
The beaches are beautiful and the scuba diving is superb!!! The water is
such a wonderful color it
seems almost not real. It's hot all the time, but you get used to it. I
think two of my all time favorite
trips were in Thailand. One where I went on a liveaboard to the Surin and
Similan Islands. I will
never forget waking up at 6am surrounded by nothing but crystal clear blue
water and limestone cliff
islands. It was amazing! The second was a trip to Krabi where I was able
to rock climb and scuba dive
each day. Traveling is cheap and easy if you have patience and don't mind
having the Mai Pen Rai
attitude! Waiting is something you just get used to.
