What Do I Miss Most

Paul Mooney taught Social Studies in TCIS from 1998-2001 during which time he was able to travel to Indonesia, Cambodia, Nepal, India, China, and Vietnam. He continues to pursue his interests in travel, photography, and diving in Honduras where he is currently teaching.

What do I miss about Thailand? How long can this list be?

1. The students, the students, and the students.

2. Thai Food!!

3. The friendly nature of Thai's and the general safety level in Thailand (minus traffic)

4. The family feel to the school, and the closeness of the faculty.

5. Parties or poker nights at Dr. Tom's!

6. Rollerblading around Thana City

7. Proximity and ease of travel to places previously unknown and unexplored.

8. Khao San Rd. and getting lost in the sea of backpackers.

10. Easing the pain of grading essays for an hour or more by getting an equivelent and concurrent length of time in foot massage.

11. Student Council, and my Co-Advisor Mr. A

12. Grading papers by the pool at Nouvelle

13. Som tum with 5 peppers (I know this counts in the same category as number 2 above, but it deserves special recognition)

14. My wonderful, wonderful, wonderful, WONDERFUL large, multi-level Condo at Thana Place

15. The wonderful diversity and cultural possibilities of life in Krungthep with all the embassy parties, and other events.

16. 25 cent beer, while sitting on my balcony and watching firey, spectacular sunsets (despite knowing it's the pollution that caused them)
